Shooter For Life

from La Artista Conquistadora! by Denise Clarke

/

about

I wrote this song as soon as I realized the Bible is a metaphor for life, and whoever wrote it, was an observant human being who was probably high on mushrooms.

lyrics

You must take me for a body of Christ,
'Cause you're beating me down and I'm paying a price,
But these wounds, they look so nice.
I'm a lover of all, and I'll spread a word,
You can hang me up and dance while I hum like a bird,
'Cause I'll be getting up for the sunrise.
I'm a shooter for life!
I'm a straight shooter!
I look better alive!
Than I ever died!
You can call me the Devil 'cause I fall from the sky,
I take two hits in then I pass to the right,
Got me thinkin' if he can do it then why can't I?
I'm a sinner of all but I got what I need,
Me and Hell we know well that lovin' is easy,
They might of shot me down, but I was born in Mexico so I can take the heat.

I've got more angels than a parachute,
And I'm still barely alive,
All these demons you call people need to stop cramping my style.
All these people you call demons need to stop cramping my style.
